Rossa started her singing career when she released her very first album in 1988 titled Untuk Sahabatku (For My Best Friend), just when she was 10 years old. But it was the second album 8 years later called Nada-Nada Cinta (Rhythm of Love) that put her into the spotlight in the music industry. And after 3 years of pause due to her study at The University of Indonesia, which she graduated as a bachelor of Communications, in 1999 she released the third album called Tegar (Strong). The song, as well as the album, successfully brought her into the next level as one of the most popular female pop singers in Indonesia. And ever since that moment, her name has always been listed as one of the divas in the country. All of her albums have always been a success, not only in Indonesia, but also in many neighboring countries like Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam and Singapore.
In 2008 Rossa became the lead singer of a compilation album of an original soundtrack of the most seen Indonesian film of all time called Ayat-Ayat Cinta (Verses of Love), which became one of the biggest hits with more than 4.242.777 viewers watch the video on Youtube (as per Desember 2010). And now, many of her songs have become the theme song for TV Drama, which are very popular in Indonesia.
She held a mini concert called Konser Cerita Cinta (Love Story Concert) in 7 big cities in Indonesia; Jakarta (May 30, 2008), Surabaya (June 6, 2008), Palembang (June 16, 2008), Bandung (June 20, 2008), Padang (July 11, 2008), Batam (July 17, 2008) and Medan (July 25, 2008), where she exclusively performed her 16 big hits in front of her fanatic audience in these cities. And as the response was very thrilling, she continued the mini concert outside the country. More than 3000 spectators in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia attended the concert on the 27 of Juli 2008.
But, it was the solo concert that finally realized her biggest dream as a singer. On the 26th of November 2008, she held one of the biggest concerts ever held by a solo singer in Indonesia, titled Persembahan Cinta (The Presentation of Love) at The Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), where she was teamed up with the number one composer, Erwin Gutawa and Jay Subiakto as the art director. More than 4000 spectators packed the most prestigious venue in Indonesia that night, watched her performing more than 25 hits with several popular guest stars featuring as well. The big event was continued by “Konsert Melodi Cinta Rossa” at Bukit Jalil Stadion in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 29th of May 2010, with different audience, but same success. And the last “Konsert Harmoni Cinta Rossa – October 2011” at Esplanade Singapore attend by around 2,000 her fans.
